  • FFL draft time!

Mark and I decided to try the MBIFFL auction draft this year.  I played last year and had pretty much decided against playing again til Duggan put out a plea for more people last weekend.  I relented and dragged Mark along with me to join in.

    My team:

    QB: Tony Romo

RB: Steven Jackson, Ryan Grant, Jonathan Stewart, Chris Brown, Maurice Morris

WR/TE: Roy Williams, Reggie Brown, Kellen Winslow, Roddy White, Ted Ginn Jr.

    D: Dallas

    K: Shayne Graham CIN

I realized on the way home that I negelcted to draft a 2nd QB which I usually do so I'll be dropping someone to pick up Delhomme hopefully. Probably gonna dump Maurice Morris as I'm not really sure why I drafted him(I had a $1 left!)

    Mark's team:

    QB: Eli Manning, Brett Favre

RB: Brian Westbrook, Michael Turner, Matt Forte(he liked his last name), Justin Fargas

WR: Reggie Wayne, Jerricho Cotchery, Jason Witten, Santana Moss, Dallas Clark

    D: Indianapolis

    K: Josh Brown STL

All in all, a fairly decent draft.  I think Mark has a better team than I do but the season hasn't begun yet so we'll see.

  • Fantasy Football

Took part in the first ever MBIFFL auction draft this morning. I've been a part of MBIFFL since 2002 but wasn't real happy with the league last year. We had a 12 team league and if you had a lower drafting spot, you were basically screwed.  I was hesitant to participate this year but decided to give the auction league a try.  I think I'm going to like this league better in that there will be a few more players available to pick up if someone goes in the tank.  The draft was much more rewarding for me because you had a fighting chance to get some of the players you actually wanted.

    The results:

    QB- Drew Brees, Brett Favre

RB- Steven Jackson, Marshawn Lynch, Ahman Green, Chris Brown

WR- Torry Holt, Santana Moss, Braylon Edwards, Mark Clayton

    D- New England

    K- Chicago, Philadelphia

I'm satisfied with this lineup and I actually had $2 of my fictional $100 left over.  We're using ESPN's fantasy football program this year.  Best thing is that it's free. We're all paying $40 and that includes 10 transactions. The other league uses Fanball and after paying the costs to use Fanball's program there was much less left over for prize money.

Other than that, school started Tuesday and is going quite well already.  My elementary route is a bit of a challenge with 70+ kids but it is a very short route so it shouldn't be too bad.  I'm bid at 7.5 hours a day but I'll be running my activity route 4 nights this week and if I get any charters it'll bump me into OT.  woohoo!

We're just vegging out at home this weekend.  NASCAR at Richmond tonight; last race before the Chase begins. Tomorrow, maybe some watch some football or we may hit the Minnesota Zoo and check out the new Minnesota Trail.  Supposed to be really cool.

Matt Beyer; I think your prediction of Lloyd Carr losing his job may come true before the season is over.  They got slaughtered today by Oregon 39-7.  Too bad for Michigan....hahahahahahahahahahahaha   Gophers actually have a better record than Michigan.  How often does that happen?
